On Wednesday, March 25, 2026 , Kevin Okyere, Founder of the Kevin Okyere Foundation and CEO of Springfield Group, led a joint team from both organisations to Ahwerase in the Akuapem South Municipality of Ghana’s Eastern Region, where hundreds of school children received durable school shoes.
.
The team began at Ahwerase Presbyterian Primary and Kindergarten, where every single pupil was fitted with a new pair of durable black shoes, in line with the school’s dress code. Starting with the youngest children, the process quickly turned into something more than a distribution—it became a moment of joy.
.

The excitement was immediate and unmistakable. For many of the children, this was their first time receiving brand-new shoes.
.
In total, over 600 pairs of shoes were distributed across beneficiary schools, including Ahwerase Presbyterian Primary and KG, Aburi Methodist Primary B and JHS, and Anglican JHS.
.
But beyond the numbers, it was the interactions that defined the day. Team members spent time with the children, helping them try on their shoes, sharing laughs, and creating moments that will likely stay with them far longer than the footwear itself.
.

Speaking during the visit, Kevin Okyere reflected on the intention behind the initiative:
.
“We feel it’s our responsibility to give back to society. We go into communities, understand their needs, and respond in a way that makes a real difference. Here, the need was clear and as you can see, the children are genuinely happy.”
.
The visit also revealed deeper infrastructure challenges within the school. The Foundation team identified leaking roofs affecting classrooms and the science laboratory, issues that disrupt learning, especially during the rainy season.
.
In response, Okyere committed to addressing these concerns, “We’re going to fix all the leaking issues so that when it rains, it doesn’t interrupt their education.”

.
The Headmistress of Ahwerase Presbyterian Primary, Sylvia Afrifa, expressed heartfelt gratitude:
.
“I knew they were coming to donate shoes, but I did not expect that every pupil would receive a pair. I am overwhelmed and very happy.”
.
She noted that beyond comfort and uniformity, the donation could have a meaningful psychological impact on the pupils boosting confidence and, potentially, academic performance.
